Two questions to nail your quiz topic

Earlier this week someone on Facebook asked me what I did for a living. Luckily, it was someone who is part of the online business community, so they understand digital marketing. When I said I was a quiz strategist they responded with this (direct quote):

"Wow! I love it when I hear about businesses I've never encountered before! It's part of why I asked the question... you get to put QUIZ STRATEGIST on your business cards?! Genius."

Now, I woke up to that comment (Yes, guilty for checking Facebook first thing in the morning. Yes, I know I should be meditating or something 🤷🏻‍♀️), so that was very nice. And it made me think of the past few clients I’ve been working on, as well as the upcoming launch of Quiz Genius, my online course (watch for the launch announcement coming very soon If you want to get in on the founding members cohort!).

Often when I talk to a potential client about their quiz, they are hesitant. Not because they don’t want to build a quiz, but because they don’t think they have a quiz in them. Almost everyone says:

- my quiz idea has already been done, or

- I don’t have a clue what my quiz topic would be

And I totally get that! I remember thinking the same thing when I first wanted to do a quiz. But I do have a couple of questions that help get the ideas flowing. Either of these questions can turn into your perfect quiz topic.

Question One

What do people ask you about your industry or business ALL the time? Or more specifically, they are wondering something about themselves, but are hoping you can resolve for them.

For example, if you were an online business coach, and people asked you all the time: what kind of online business model should I have? Well, there’s your quiz topic!

[QUIZ] What kind of online business should you launch? Take my 2 minute quiz to find out the perfect online business model for you!

Question Two

What are their objections to working with you? You can turn that into a quiz topic like - What is your #1 block to…

For example, if you were a financial advisor, your quiz topic could be something like:

[QUIZ] What is your #1 block to generating wealth? Take my two minute quiz to find out what's stopping you from building the wealth you desire.

And the typical objections that people have could be your quiz results.

I hope these two questions can help get the ideas flowing for you! Remember, your clients/customers are handing your quiz topic directly to you. You just need to be ready to receive it!
