You know, it's funny.

You build a quiz to give your audience choices.

Yet, in the process of building the quiz, you have a ton of choices to make yourself. And the very first choice you need to make is what kind of quiz are you going to build?

When you're deciding, you need to take two things into consideration:

  • Which one works best for your audience?
  • Which one will align best with the journey that your audience is about to embark on?

There are three key types of quizzes to choose from when you are building a lead generation quiz for your business.

Personality Quizzes

These are, by far, the most most popular style of quiz. You will have seen these everywhere. They are the quizzes that have titles like:

  • What type of __________ are you?
  • What kind of __________ are you?
  • What style of __________ are you?

These are great because they are fun for people. They let people learn a bit about themselves, they let people get curious about themselves and get some answers. Even better, these can go viral as your audience members start sharing your quiz on social media and comparing their results with their friends.

Assessment Quizzes

Assessment Quizzes are great to, well, assess your audience. These assessments can vary, depending on your niche and your needs. They can assess knowledge (How investment savvy are you?); they can assess preparedness (How ready are you for an emergency?); or they can assess performance (What kind of traveler are you?).

Assessment quizzes can be extremely useful to then state to your audience member that you have the products and services that can help them improve their knowledge, readiness or performance. These quizzes can be used in just about any niche.

Diagnostic Quizzes

Diagnostic quizzes help your audience figure out a solution to their problem, which is typically why they are coming to you in the first place! The quiz allows you to ask a series of questions to then pin point the exact problem. You can think of it as a mini-interview actually.

Typically quizzes sound like:

  • What's wrong with your ________?
  • Why aren't you ________?
  • Discover why you ________?

The best part about diagnostic quizzes is that once you've pinpointed what their problem is, then you can hand-deliver them the exact right solution...ie. your program, product, or service.

What quiz feels like it might work best for you?
