Is Kajabi's Creator AI Hub Worth Your Time? Here's My Verdict
Mar 30, 2023
You knew this was coming I bet.
Yep, another article about AI. Because we just can’t seem hop on Facebook or Instagram without reading an article, seeing an advertisement or hearing a rant about AI these days.
But I want to talk specifically about Kajabi’s AI offerings.
Have you tried them out?
At the time of writing this article (March 2023), Kajabi has six AI offerings within its AI Creator Hub, some to help you create your course, some to help you market your course. They are:
- Course Outline - Get a structured course outline that breaks down your topic into digestible modules and lessons.
- Lesson Content - Help learners expand their knowledge in one area with a pre-built course lesson.
- Landing Page Copy - Inspire more people to buy your course with compelling sales page copy.
- Sales Email Copy - Attract more customers with effective email copy to help promote your course.
- Social Media Content - Grow your audience with engaging social media posts for every platform.
- Sales Video Script - Promote your course with a short video script that you can record and share.
I’ve tried them all out and am here to let you know what I think and whether it’s something I’m going to keep using. So let’s dive in!
Course Outline Generator
Since I already have my own course I punched in the topic of my course into the Course Outline Generator and then compared it to my own course outline. Of course it wasn’t identical, and I’d have to say that the Kajabi Course Outline Generator was a bit weak, which didn’t surprise me, after I am the expert on my course topic. But, it did give me some interesting topic ideas that I could add to my course, either as extra lessons, or even bonuses.
How I suggest you use this tool
After coming up with your own outline, use this to see if there is anything else you might want to add. But, I'm a firm believer in 'no one teaches your topic like you do', so make sure you're not letting AI water down your amazing course ideas.
Lesson Content Generator
Again, I used my own course and lessons to see how Kajabi’s AI tool compared. I punched in the exact topic of one of my course lessons to see what it would give me.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Both in the quantity and in the quality of content.
First let’s talk about quantity. I like to keep my lessons pretty short - no more than 10 minute videos for each lesson. But the three short paragraphs of content that Kajabi’s AI Lesson Content tool gave me would have given me enough for about a 2 minute video.
And it wouldn’t have even been a good two minutes. The content was shallow at best, useless at worst. The lesson topic was ‘Your Perfect Quiz Topic’, and the summary of Kajabi’s Lesson Content was ‘identify your audience, research the topic, choose your quiz format’. Well, thanks Kajabi, but there is so much more to coming up with an amazing quiz topic than that.
How I suggest you use this tool
Just don’t. The reason you are teaching an online course (or running a membership or a group coaching program) is because of your background - your knowledge, your experience, etc. Using this AI Lesson Content tool is definitely going to water things down. Trust me, you can do better.
Landing Page Copy Generator
Again I felt like this content lacked in terms of quantity. It had a total of 6 sentences and 2 CTAs. It just wasn’t enough to explain to a reader what problem was being solved or even to make a connection of any kind between pain point and solution.
The small bit of content that was provided wasn’t bad though. I’d likely use some of it for various sections of my landing page. Would I use it word for word? Probably not. Did it give me some ideas for phrasing or even new ways to approach the benefits of my course. Sure.
How I suggest you use this tool
You could use this tool to help you with your brainstorming of copy content. If you’re trying to come up with what else to say about your program, or how you could word things, this could be helpful. Although, I’d probably lean on a landing page template or copy template first instead. This probably wouldn’t be my first stop if I needed help with landing page copy.
Sales Email Copy Generator
This did an okay job of covering everything that needs to be in a sales email but there were two problems with it.
- It was boring as hell
- There was only one email (ie. it wasn’t a sequence)
People aren’t buying your online course just for the content, they're buying your online course because of YOU. So you better make sure that your sales emails have a lot of your personality in them. And yes, in THEM. If you send out just one sales email then it better be the best damn sales email in the entire world. Or you better have super low expectations.
How I suggest you use this tool
More like a checklist. It covers everything that you need to include in a sales email so you can use to make sure that you aren’t missing anything - course name, benefit, price, link, etc. Other than that, I’d skip it.
Sales Video Script Generator
Well, it’s no surprise that I’m not impressed with Kajabi’s AI Sales Video Script is it?
Guess what? It’s lacking in both quantity and quality. Sure, it covers the basics but it’s boring and there’s hardly any substance to it. And it would be about a 1 minute video.
How I suggest you use this tool
You could grab a few sentences as basic filler, but for the most part, in your sales video script you want to make this super personalized. You want to include stories about your own background and let your potential customers know exactly what they will experience when they go through your program.
Social Media Content Generator
All right! Now we’re getting something a little better! This is a tool I might actually use!
With Kajabi’s Social Media Content Generator, it gives you some choices. First, it asks you which platform you’re using: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok or Twitter. And then it asks you to give a topic. Of course with social media, your topics are more acute, so you can say something like ‘mistakes people make when…’. It doesn’t actually give you the content (for example, it didn’t tell me the mistakes that people make when building a quiz - which is fine, I’m the expert - that’s content I already know), but it did provide me with 3 different ideas about how I can present this as video on Instagram, which I love!
And then it gave me three more choices:
- Add more detail
- Make it funny
- Make it inspiring
Depending on which I chose, it provided me with other video ideas.
I was actually impressed with the Social Media Content Generator!
How I suggest you use this tool
- Start throwing in ideas about your course topic and make a list of what the generator suggests.
- Put in topics about your course topic - the more narrow/niched your prompt, the more variety you will get.
- Use the content the generator has already created to come up with new prompts to put back into the generator.
My overall take on Kajabi’s AI Creator Hub?
First off, I LOVE Kajabi. I love it and use it for so many things. But I don’t think it will become my go-to AI tool. Maybe it’ll get better. But for now, I will either keep writing my own copy and lean a bit on ChatGPT when I need to do some brainstorming or want a hand with new ways to say something.
