Last weekend (mid-August 2025), the internet was buzzing. A big-name entrepreneur launched something massive - millions of eyeballs (and dollars, apparently), tens of thousands of comments, and a whole lot of noise.

A few years ago, I would have felt it: the pull.

That old, familiar whisper: "Maybe that is what success looks like."

But this time around, something amazing happened.

I didn’t spiral. In fact, I was very happily able to stay away from it all. No curiosity, and no diving into that pit of shame that I haven't it to that level yet.

Because the truth is, that kind of launch? That kind of hype? That kind of bro-marketing strategy that relies on pressure, manipulation, and spectacle?

It’s not for me. And it’s not the people I work with.

In fact, it gives a lot of us the ick.

You Are Not the Problem

If you've ever looked at those massive launches and felt like, "Why don’t I want that? Should I want that? Am I playing too small?" then let me say this as clearly as I can:

You are not the problem.

You're not lazy. You're not unambitious. And you're not behind.

You're discerning.

You're building a business rooted in your values, not in some outdated playbook built for maximum extraction.

And that matters.

What I saw this week, after that mega launch noise faded, was deeply reassuring.

In the corners of the internet I hang out in, with thoughtful leaders, values-driven founders, and intentional business owners, there was a collective exhale.

People weren’t impressed.

They were turned off.

Because they know the cost of chasing 'big' for the sake of big.

They’ve been burned by hustle.

They’ve outgrown chaos.

They’re done with the endless dopamine cycles of launch-and-burn.

Your Version of Success Might Look Like This:

• A lean, profitable business that lets you take Fridays off.
• A calm, coordinated team that knows how to execute without your constant input.
• Launches that feel easeful, not like an emotional rollercoaster.

You didn’t start your business to be "on" 24/7. You didn’t leave your 9-to-5 to become a full-time project manager.
